Good stories can be a lot of fun, especially when they are about a place you know and love. Stories seem to get better with time as they change with each telling.

That's the premise behind this book that is being written for us as a fundraiser. Rather than striving for historical accuracy, we may be moving a bit in the other direction. Linda Orcelleto is a great story teller. As people tell her stories about things that have happened at Pilot Butte, she’ll do what every great story teller does—make them even more interesting while trying very hard to keep the heart of each story in place.

Book Signing Party Announced!

Mother's Cafe (Eastside) is hosting a book signing party on Friday, June 13, 2014, from 4:30 to 6:00. We're expecting a good turnout and it should be a lot of fun. Carol will be there even though it's her birthday. Must be important if The Butte Lady shows up on her birthday. Either that or her husband isn't very romantic. ;)

This is truly a big event for Pilot Butte. Linda's book is the first book ever written about Pilot Butte. People are loving this book so much that a sequel is already in the works. Purchasing this book helps the Butte and also helps us in our efforts to document Pilot Butte history in a way that is both engaging and entertaining.

Btw, Mother's is a good friend to Pilot Butte. Not only have they been sponsors of both SMB's, they were a vendor this year insisting on being up top giving out their juices to our participants. Also, I end up having a lot of meetings and, most often, people tell me they want to meet at Mother's. This is a good fit all around.
